Simon Andreassen conquered the podium when the Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships completed a historic Danish summer of cycling. Both Danish riders, Denmark and the Danes have had a fantastic time in the forest, city and on the roads.

Cobblestone, paved roads and spectacular tracks in the forest around Haderslev: the Mountain Bike World Championships had it all and gained a lot of local attention. Steep passages, daring single tracks and lots of challenges during the 40-kilometre route. The world's top female and male mountain bike riders competed for the rainbow jersey whilst more than 800 amateur riders also tested the route.

The 2022 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships was organised by UCI, HMIF Mountainbike, DCU, Haderslev Municipality, Triangle Events Denmark and Sport Event Denmark.

The 2022 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships is a strong example of local cooperation, will and engagement. This is a milestone in the Triangle Events collaboration to celebrate the rainbow jersey here in our area. An event fantastically done in Haderslev brings us to the next level as an event destination and improves our possibilities to attract future championships.
Triangle Events Denmark, Thomas Kastrup, Sport Event Manager
It has been a fantastic experience to be part of the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships. Watching the riders cross the finish line at Gravene was great and we heard that it was a beautiful but tough route. Planning a world championship is a big task and I would like to thank UCI, the organising partners, HMIF and the many volunteers for a job well done - something Haderslev Municipality is very thankful for. I would also like to thank the government agency and plot owners for accommodating our use of their land on the route.
Haderslev Municipality, Mads Skau, Mayor
I am very pleased that Denmark once again has presented world-class cycling. I hope that everyone has had a fantastic experience in and around Haderslev. Denmark and Danish cycling is now on the world map! From DCU we look forward to welcoming more international cycling events in the years to come. And a big thank you to our partners, who make these races and events possible.
